Mrs Belinda Rigby Workington Golf Club member has been appointed the Cumbria Ladies County Captain 2012
Her role is to captain the Cumbria County Ladies Golf Association
To oversee the administration of the Association, chairing meetings of the Executive and Council meetings.
To select and run the County Squad, preparing them for the Northern Counties Match Week by arranging coaching, practice matches and practice rounds at the venues.
To attend all County Competitions and Junior County Competitions travelling away with the teams to all Northern Regional and National Competitions.
To encourage new golfers of every age, working in conjunction with the CGP. (Cumbria Golf Partnership)
To represent and promote Cumbria County Ladies Golf at every opportunity.
2011 Captain Mr Howard Walker's charity raised £1017.23p from Workington Golf Club with a further £200 added to the total by Sellafield charity committee. The cheque was presented to Dr Paul Mead Consultant Nephrologist at the West Cumberland Hospital Dr Mead thanked Howard and assured everyone the money would be put to good use with in the department
2011 Lady Captain Mrs Dorothy Mewse's charity raised £800 from Workington Golf Club Ladies Section. The cheque was presented to Mr Derek Tunstall from the Cockermouth Mountain Rescue team Mr Tunstall thanked Dorothy and assured everyone the money would be put to good use
