Workington Golf Club
The quality of our course, the conscientiousness of our green staff, the courtesy of our steward and stewardess, the innovations of our professional, the enthusiasm of our Club Captain, the delight of our Junior Captain and the successes of our golfers, all bode well for the future.
I also commend to you those, whether on committees or not, who give so unstintingly of their time to our club. With the help, particularly that from our Vice Captain, Dorothy Mewse, I will do my utmost to encourage all our members to participate in, and enjoy, the 2010 season.
Lady Captain 2010
Dorothy Hodgson.
Hello and Welcome to the season 2010, it makes me very proud and honoured to have been elected as your captain this year.
I am really looking forward to the year ahead.
I know my vice captain Howard Walker  and the committee will support and help me throughout the year ahead along with the support from the members which will make my year very easy, ha ha.
To all the members and team members I hope you have a successful season and continue to enjoy your golf at Workington Golf Club, our new professional Andrew Wells is a welcome addition to the club and I hope he enjoys his first full year. Most importantly please show your support to both Andrew in the pro shop and  to John and Veronica Bright our club stewards in the club house.
Good luck to the Lady Captain Dorethy and the Junior Captain Jack for the 2010 season and I hope the club teams continue to bring success to Workington Golf Club.
Your Captain
Johnathan Michael Coyle
To begin with I would like to thank the junior committee for selecting me to represent Workington Golf Club as the Junior Captain for 2010. This selection is a great honour for me to captain such an excellent junior section and I will endeavour to carry on the excellent work that previous junior captains such as Ryan Shillito carried out.
During 2010 my main aim is to encourage and assist the younger juniors in improving their game, reducing their handicaps and therefore increasing the number of juniors entering the competitions. I will assist the new club professional Mr Andrew Wells in coaching the younger juniors where possible and with the assistance of the 2010 Vice Captain Adam Shuttleworth I am sure that the junior section will improve even further.
This year I am hoping that the county league cup finds its way into the trophy cabinet in our club house, but more importantly I do hope that all the juniors have an excellent golfing year and handicap targets are achieved.
Finally I would like to give my best wishes for the 2010 season to Mr Johnathan Coyle and Mrs Dorothy Hodgson for positions of Club Captain and Lady Captain.
